Bio
Oscar V. Merida
Born May 25th of '71, and the youngest of 7 kids. I started drawing at the tender age of 4 years old. I give credit for my artistic talent to my father Rafael Merida (known for his poetry and books of the subject) whom I watched mix a variety of colors from the 3 basic colors for hours
Raised in Southern California (Hollywood & South Central LA), in the early 80’s I was exposed to graffiti and Airbrushing opening new doors to share my deep passion for the arts.
With this newly added tool in my art arsenal I felt I could paint the world.
By the time the 90's came, hip-hop became something that I got absorb in musically as well as dancing on a semi-professional level, by this time I started to wear my art as well as provided tattoos to friends and friends of friends with airbrush jean jackets ranging from simple bubble letters to realistic sceneries and portraits, this went on for a few years before technology completely consumed me on both a professional and personal level in the late 90's

In 2015 I relocated with my two youngest kids to the beautiful historical town of Auburn in hopes of a more relaxed lifestyle after growing up in the busy, fast pace of Los Angeles.

Auburn became my home very fast, and it is here where I met the love of my life, amazing support, and best friend Misty.
This new awesome lifestyle has aloud me to share the many mediums I love such as: Realistic Oil/Acrylic paintings, Tattoos, Graphic Design, Sculptures, Pencil, and also exploring the frustrating world of Watercolor.
